Graham Platner secured the Democratic nomination on June 9, 2026. However, following the release of rape accusations against Platner, he withdrew from the race on July 10, 2026. As a result, the Maine Democratic Party nominated Troy Jackson to replace Platner on the ballot on July 25, 2026.
